For information and resources on supporting the work based learner into HE. This site, developed and hosted by Union Learn has been designed to be most practical and informative for IAG staff. Much of the Fdf work has been moved onto this site. You do not need to be a member of Union Learn to use this site or its resources.

www.prospects.ac.uk have great resources including job role responsibilities for Graduate jobs, this is a great research resource to help learners plan their direction.

Student Finance …try

www.practitioners.studentfinanceengland.co.uk – the practitioners area – simply click on the tabs at the top to find useful resources.

www.yourfuture.direct.gov.uk – you’ll find all the info and the repayment calculator here.

www.yourfuture.direct.gov.uk/part-time-students – good cover all, including finance,  for those thinking of entering into HE on a PT basis.

Is HE for me ? www.channel4.com/explore/yourfuture – this is a good introduction site to use with learners and their families. Lively with a quiz and budgeting tips as well as testimonials from HE students.

Aimhigher HE myth-busting materials have been developed – including information concerning alternative routes into HE ( mentioning the HE route Planner, Progression Agreements, Current Account guide to part time finance and much more)

Apprenticeships are being put forward as an alternative way to up-skill whilst working www.apprenticeships.org.uk FAQ section is helpful.

Labour Market Information – try this site www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/ier/ngrf it is a little confusing to navigate at first, but stick with it and you’ll be able to put in current, relevant snippets of LMI into presentations to learners.
